Upper Providence Community Day -
Saturday, September 20, 2008
Upper Providence Community Day is hosting a 5k (3.1 mile) run and walking event to benefit Special Olympics Montgomery County. Join members of the Long Distance Running and Walking team to show our thanks to Upper Providence. Our team will be running a shortened version of the event due to the Area M Fall Classic the following day – we are pretty sure though that the team coaches including head coach Scott Otterbein will run the 5k! . All athletes, families and coaches from SOMC sports programs are welcome to join us. Other activities during the day include a craft show, demonstrations, live music and evening fireworks. The community day is held at the Township’s Black Rock Park located off Route 422 at Routes 113 and 29 in Oaks. The Township website has more information at this link: Upper Providence Community Day

Fundraising with eScrip
Participating Merchants Help Special Olympics
Special Olympics Montgomery receives hundreds of dollars a year through the eScrip program. eScrip is a fundraising program that allows participating merchants to contribute a percentage of your grocery loyalty cards, credit card, and debit/ATM card purchases to our program. Most members sign up their Genuardi's cards - more and more though there are additional participating options such as Macy's, MasterCard, VISA, American Express, Discover and debit cards.
Here's How it Works
· You register any one or all of your existing grocery loyalty, debit and credit cards for use in the program.
· Participating merchants will make contributions to your chosen group, based on purchases made by you, just by using the cards you have registered.
· Your purchases are tracked and available to you online, allowing you to see just how much you are earning on your child's behalf!
