Protective Behaviors Training

SOPA has instituted a requirement that all Class A Volunteers 16 and over must take the new Protective Behaviors Training.
Protective Behaviors on-line training is now a three (3) year certification.
As of January 1st, 2012, anyone who took their protective behavior certification prior to the year 2010 must re-take it and then take it every three years. Here is the link:

Because we work with vulnerable children and adults all Class A volunteers are required to not only complete the online registration and Volunteer Registration Form, but are required to complete the Special Olympics Pennsylvania
General Orientation. Special Olympics Protective Behaviors Training and undergo a Pennsylvania criminal records check. Class A volunteers under 17 must also complete the 17 & Under Disclosure Form.
Please help spread the word regarding this SOPA requirement. We will not be able to utilize the services of anyone who has not completed this training in meeting the necessary volunteer to
athlete ratios.
