Volunteers

Special Olympics can not function without the time, energy, commitment, and enthusiasm of the many volunteers who accomplish a wide variety of tasks. Special Olympics Montgomery County is an entirely volunteer organization and relies on volunteers at all levels to ensure that every athlete is provided with a quality sports training and competition experience.
Whether as assistant coaches, site coordinators, administrators, or in other support capacities, volunteering for Special Olympics can create lifelong friendships and rewards of unique value. Volunteers take great pride in knowing that they are part of a global movement that provides athletes, with intellectual disabilities, an opportunity to experience the excitement, joy, and personal fulfillment associated with sports training and competition.
To become a volunteer, please click on "Volunteer Registration" to print the form, complete, and sent to the SOMC office. The safety of athletes is a primary concern of Special Olympics. All volunteers who may be individually responsible for an athlete will have a criminal background check performed.
